On to Camp

I thank all of you for your love and prayers. After three glorious days (visiting places I’d never imagined I would) with my dear friend (and recent graduate) from seminary, the time has come to serve others at camp. It will make some of you nervous, but (just as the last three weeks could make someone nervous) I am thankful that God is already there…and I am merely catching up.

The past few days have introduced me to the challenges of Ramadan: no food or drink is served or to be publicly consumed between sunrise and sunset. That has posed a few challenges during daytime excursions this week! Thankfully, it ends on June 25th, so the challenge will be brief. I am thankful for the opportunity to continue to learn what life is like as a religious minority. Traveling through the regions I’m visiting this summer has already highlighted for me how very privileged we are in SO many ways in the US!

Please pray for health and safety for all who go to or are already at camp. Pray for those we will serve. I will update here as I am able.

For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you.”    Jeremiah 29:11-12

  1. Praying for you, and all you encounter. I am also going to ask for prayers. My mom has been diagnosed with cancer, and it is not good… I have been able to spend time with her, and I am taking my family down to see her this weekend…
Thank You for sharing your journey! And I pray that you have fun “catching up!”
    Peace,
    Robert
